Short answer: página azul (OnlyFans) works like a paywall. Fans, who must be 18 or older, open an account, add a card and pay a monthly subscription set by each creator, plus extras such as paid posts, paid messages or tips. The platform takes 20% of every payment, and the creator, who must first verify her identity, receives 80% in US dollars.
This guide explains the whole mechanism, from both sides of the screen: what happens when someone subscribes and what happens when a creator gets paid. If you only want to know what the expression means, read what is página azul; if you're in Colombia and want to know how to pay from there, we have a guide on how OnlyFans works in Colombia. Here we focus on the rules that apply in any country, based on the platform's Terms of Service and press reports.
What is página azul and who runs it?
"Página azul" ("the blue page") is the Spanish nickname for OnlyFans, after the color of its logo. The company that runs it is Fenix International, based in the United Kingdom, which files its accounts every year with the UK companies registry. According to the PA news agency, as published by RTÉ in August 2025, in fiscal 2024 it had 4.6 million creator accounts and 377.5 million fan accounts worldwide.
How do you create a página azul account?
If you want to subscribe (fan)
According to OnlyFans' Terms of Service, to open a fan account you need a valid email address, a username and a password, and you must be at least 18. The account itself is free: you only pay when you subscribe to someone or buy something. To pay, you add a card, and charges are made in US dollars.
If you want to post (creator)
Opening a creator account takes more steps. The terms require you to:
- Upload a valid ID and two photos of yourself to complete identity verification.
- Add a bank account or other payout method and choose how you want to receive your money.
- Provide any applicable tax documentation, such as your tax ID number.
- Set your subscription price, if you're going to charge one.
The platform can ask for more age or identity information at any time. We walk through the full process in our step-by-step guide to starting on OnlyFans.
How does página azul check ages?
There are two separate checks. Creators must provide the ID and photos mentioned above, and the terms add that if another person appears in a post, they must be another tagged creator or someone 18 or older whose identity and written consent have been obtained.
For fans, depending on where they live, the platform may apply additional age checks through outside providers. One example is age estimation from a live selfie. In March 2025, the UK regulator Ofcom fined the company £1.05 million for giving inaccurate information about that tool: it had said it asked for further proof from anyone who appeared younger than 23, when the real threshold was 20, according to RTÉ, citing Reuters.
How do subscriptions work?
Each creator decides what she charges per month. According to Bloomberg Línea (2023) and La Voz (2024), the allowed range is $4.99 to $49.99; there are also free profiles that charge only for individual content. Subscribing gives you everything that creator posts for her subscribers, except items with their own price.
The terms make clear that subscriptions renew automatically at the same price until you cancel. You can cancel at any time with the unsubscribe button on the creator's page, and you'll keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. If the creator raises her price, the renewal isn't charged automatically.
What is pay-per-view (PPV) on página azul?
PPV is content with its own price that isn't included in the subscription. It can be a locked post on the creator's feed or a message with a file that only opens after you pay. OnlyFans' terms list it as one of the ways a fan accesses a creator's content, along with subscriptions and direct messages. That's why a "free" profile can end up costing more than a paid one: what matters is what each extra costs.
How do tips and messages work?
Página azul has private messaging between fans and creators. Each creator decides whether to reply, whether to charge per message and whether to send paid content that way. There are also tips: a voluntary payment, with or without a message, which can also be sent during a live stream, according to Bloomberg Línea.
There are limits. La Voz reported in November 2024 that paid messages can cost up to $100, tips can go up to $200, and new users can't spend more than $500 a day, a cap that rises over time. No payment should happen outside the site: anyone who asks you for a direct bank transfer or a digital-wallet payment is almost always running a scam.
How does a creator get paid on página azul?
Everything a fan pays goes through the platform's payment processor. OnlyFans deducts 20% and credits 80% to the creator's balance. Once that balance is above the minimum payout, she can request a payout to the method she registered. The terms say payments are typically handled in US dollars, that currency conversion carries costs and that the bank may charge separately to receive money from abroad. If a fan wins a refund or chargeback from their card issuer, the platform can deduct that share from the balance.
To run the numbers, use the OnlyFans earnings calculator, and to see what the official figures say, read how much OnlyFans creators make. Country-specific details are in our payout guides for Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Chile and Spain.
Who is responsible for taxes?
The terms are clear: each creator is responsible for her own taxes, and the platform can restrict payouts from an account with tax problems. In Latin America, tax agencies such as Chile's SII and Argentina's ARCA have already sought information about this income. Confirm with an accountant how to report it in your country.
Is página azul safe to use?
