Short answer: from Chile, the usual way to get paid from OnlyFans is an international transfer to a bank account in your own name. The platform keeps 20% and you keep 80%, in dollars. Since October 2025, the SII, Chile's tax agency, has required content creators to issue an electronic fee receipt (boleta de honorarios) for what they receive from platforms, with a withholding rate of 15.25% in 2026.
This guide is for creators 18 and older. It explains how the money travels from the platform to your bank in Chile, the costs along the way and the SII's rules for people who earn income on digital platforms. If you don't have an account yet, start with our step-by-step guide to starting on OnlyFans.
Quick summary
- Fee: 20% of every payment, according to OnlyFans' Terms of Service.
- Currency: the platform typically operates in US dollars.
- Usual method: a transfer from abroad to a Chilean account in your name; the options appear in your account.
- Taxes: register your activity as second-category income, issue electronic fee receipts and file an annual income tax return.
How does OnlyFans money reach Chile?
- A subscriber pays by card for a subscription, a message, a paid post or a tip.
- OnlyFans deducts its 20% and leaves the rest as your balance.
- Once your balance is above the minimum payout (outlets and creator guides cite $20), you request a payout or schedule one.
- The money goes out in dollars to the account you registered.
The platform's terms say that, if a conversion is needed, the final amount includes those costs, and that your bank's charges for receiving transfers from abroad are on you. Subscriber refunds and chargebacks can also be deducted from your balance.
What account do I need to get paid from OnlyFans in Chile?
Payout options depend on your country and change over time: you'll see them when you complete your details in the payments section. For a transfer:
- Use an account in your name, with the same details you used to verify your identity. The platform may check that they match.
- Ask your bank whether your account accepts transfers from abroad, what its SWIFT code is and what it charges.
- Consider a dollar account if you want to choose when to switch to pesos.
- Start with a small withdrawal to check it arrives without problems.
How much do I get in Chilean pesos?
- Platform fee: 20% of what you earn.
- Incoming transfer fee: many banks charge for each transfer from abroad, and intermediary banks may add charges.
- Exchange rate: the bank applies its own rate. Compare it with the dólar observado, the reference rate published by the Banco Central de Chile.
The exchange rate matters to the SII too: according to The Clinic, which summarized the 2025 resolution, if you're paid in foreign currency the receipt uses the exchange rate on the day of payment. How do you report OnlyFans income to the SII?
This section is general and doesn't replace advice from an accountant.
The 2025 resolution
The SII announced in October 2025 that on the 1st of that month it published Resolution No. 128 of 2025, which defines the tax documents content creators must issue. The rule treats this activity as professional services, so income earned on social networks and platforms, Chilean or foreign, is backed by an electronic fee receipt.
How to issue the receipt
According to The Clinic's summary, the receipt is issued:
- On the date the platform pays you.
- To "Usuarios de Plataformas Digitales," using the generic RUT 44.444.447-9 the SII set up.
- For the net amount you received, after the platform's fee.
- With the platform's name in the description.
Withholding and the annual return
Since nobody in Chile withholds for you, you pay the withholding yourself every month with Form 29, by the 20th of the month after the receipt. What you pay this way is later credited against the Global Complementary Tax, which you file each April for the previous year. The rate rises every year under Law 21.133: the SII said it went from 14.5% in 2025 to 15.25% in 2026, and will reach 17% in 2028. For expenses, The Clinic explains you can choose a presumed deduction of 30% (with an annual cap) or your actual documented expenses; your accountant can tell you which suits you.
The SII has OnlyFans data
According to T13 and La Tercera (May 2025), the SII obtained information from the UK tax authority for the first time about Chileans with OnlyFans income and identified some 1,500 taxpayers. In the 2025 tax season, the SII itself counted more than 31,000 taxpayers with an influencer or content creator profile. Not reporting no longer goes unnoticed.
Mistakes to avoid
- Getting paid into someone else's account: you risk losing the money and hand that person a problem with the SII.
- Giving your password to an "agency": the income stays in your name even if someone else collects it.
- Accepting payments outside the platform, by direct transfer: you lose the site's protection and expose yourself to scams.
