Yes, Carol Alt, a 1980s supermodel and actress from New York, joined OnlyFans in November 2023, at 62, to take control of her own image.
Her announcement went around the world, and that attracted sites promising her photos for free or supposed leaks. They are almost always scams or traps to steal data. Use only the link she posts on her official social media and review our guide to spotting fake accounts.
Yes. Carol Alt, one of the most famous supermodels of the 1980s, opened her OnlyFans account (nicknamed the “página azul,” or blue page, in Latin America) in November 2023, at 62. Page Six broke the news as an exclusive, and the next day Fox News and The Daily Beast picked it up. The New York model explained that she was not doing it for the money but because, after more than four decades in front of the camera, she finally wanted to own her own photos.
She is a New York native, according to Fox News, and began modeling in 1979. Her big break came in 1981, when she landed the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. From there she reportedly appeared on more than 700 magazine covers, including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle and Cosmopolitan, and fronted campaigns for luxury houses such as Versace, Armani and Givenchy. She also built an acting career: Fox News remembers her as a star of Thunder in Paradise, and in 2023 she had a role in the series Paper Empire.
Outside fashion she has written books on raw food, such as Eating in the Raw, and describes herself as an entrepreneur and philanthropist. In July 2023 she returned to a Sports Illustrated runway during Miami Swim Week.
That was the main reason she gave Page Six. She said that after 44 years of work, whenever someone asks her for a picture she has to ask someone else for permission, because the rights were never hers. On the platform she hired her own photographer and decides what gets published and what does not. She called it “the wave of the future” and a way to define her image instead of letting others define it for her.
She was clear about the tone of her posts: she said there would be artistic photos that were “tastefully done,” that she does not plan to make explicit adult content, and that there is a difference between tacky and tasteful. She recalled that she had already posed for Sports Illustrated and Playboy.
According to Page Six and The Daily Beast, she learned about the platform from a Paper Empire castmate, actress Denise Richards, who already had her own account. Alt added that she would like to be hired based on what she posts, for people to see what she looks like today, and for her example to help women feel empowered at any age. She also announced she will donate part of her earnings to charities focused on women's mental health.
Her story resembles that of other veteran stars who joined the platform after 50, such as Donna D'Errico and Donna Mills. See all profiles in our United States section.
