Drea de Matteo and her OnlyFans: the “Sopranos” Adriana who says the platform saved her home

Does Drea de Matteo have OnlyFans?

Yes. Drea de Matteo, the actress who played Adriana La Cerva on The Sopranos, opened her OnlyFans account (nicknamed the “página azul,” or blue page, in Latin America) in August 2023. Fox News reported at the time that she charged 15 dollars a month. Months later she told the press that what she earned on the platform got her out of a very serious financial bind and allowed her to keep her home, and in November 2024 Variety noted that she was still on the platform.

Who is Drea de Matteo?

She is an American actress born in Queens, New York, according to Variety. Her most famous role is Adriana, Christopher Moltisanti's girlfriend on the HBO series The Sopranos, which won her an Emmy in 2004, as Fox News recalled. She later acted in Desperate Housewives and Sons of Anarchy. She is a mother of two and, besides acting, owns a streetwear brand called Ultrafree.

Why she opened her OnlyFans

De Matteo announced her account on Instagram in late August 2023, a little more than a month after the Hollywood actors' strike began, and she was 51, according to Fox News. The outlet placed her on the list of nineties and two-thousands actresses already on the platform, such as Carmen Electra and Denise Richards.

She explained the underlying reason in February 2024, in an interview picked up by Variety: her acting career had stalled and she was about to lose the house she had lived in for years. She said she had about 10 dollars in the bank when she opened the page and that in very little time she raised what she needed to settle the debt. She said bluntly that OnlyFans saved her life and that she did not mind being criticized, because she hoped nobody would have to go through what she did with two children to care for. She also used that money to fund her clothing brand.

She admitted she hesitated before taking the step and received a lot of criticism, even from her own family, which eventually changed its mind, according to the profile Variety published in November 2024. In that same piece she said she joined to save her home and saw it as a way of getting comfortable with being uncomfortable.
