What Content to Post on OnlyFans: Niches, Formats, Schedule and Rules

What content to post on OnlyFans by niche: fitness, cooking, music, makeup, fashion, cosplay and gaming. Formats, a weekly schedule and what the platform bans.

What Content to Post on OnlyFans: Niches, Formats, Schedule and Rules

Short answer: on OnlyFans, post what your followers can't see for free on other social media: full workout routines, step-by-step recipes, rehearsals, tutorials, behind-the-scenes content and personalized messages. Popular niches include fitness, cooking, music, makeup, fashion, cosplay and gaming. Everything must follow the platform's rules and the law, and anyone who appears must be 18 or older, verified and have given consent.

This guide is for adults 18 and older only. Once your account is open, the next question is what to post. Here we help you choose a niche, combine the formats the platform offers, build a realistic schedule and stay within the rules. If you don't have an account yet, start with our step-by-step guide to starting on OnlyFans.

What content should you post on OnlyFans?

The golden rule is exclusivity. People who pay for a subscription want something they can't find on your Instagram or TikTok: more depth, more closeness or more frequency. Three questions help you decide:

  • What are you good at, or passionate about? A topic you can keep up for months without burning out.
  • What do your followers ask for? Check the comments and messages you already get on other platforms.
  • What can you produce every week? A simple format you keep up is better than an ambitious one you abandon after a month.

OnlyFans isn't only adult content. In 2021 the company launched OFTV, a free app with fitness, cooking, comedy and music videos made by creators on the platform, according to Tubefilter and Xataka México. What you post is up to you, always within the rules.

8 niches with content ideas

1. Fitness and training

Full weekly routines, 30-day plans, technique corrections on video, progress tracking and Q&A sessions. A good hook: show one exercise on social media and the full routine on your page. If you give nutrition tips, make clear they don't replace a health professional.

2. Cooking

Step-by-step recipes, weekly menus, cooking tricks from your country, shopping lists and live videos while you cook. You can film with just your hands and the counter, which helps if you'd rather not show your face.

3. Music

Songs before release, acoustic versions, rehearsals, singing or instrument lessons and the story behind each track. Only use music that's yours or properly licensed: you're responsible for what you upload.

4. Makeup and personal care

Full tutorials, skincare routines, honest product reviews and looks for special occasions. The long, uncut version of what you show in 30 seconds on social media works very well.

5. Fashion

Outfits for the week, shopping hauls with commentary, style tips by body type or budget, and polls so subscribers can pick your next look.

6. Cosplay

The costume-building process, finished photo shoots, makeup tests and convention prep. Cosplay lets you work with wigs, makeup and masks, so it also suits creators who protect their identity. Respect the rights to characters and brands.

7. Gaming

Live play sessions, guides and tips, reviews of new releases and tournaments with your subscribers. It pairs well with live streams and messages, because the community takes part.

8. Behind the scenes

This works for any niche: how you prepare a shoot, your workspace, your mistakes, your plans and your day-to-day life as a creator. It's the content that brings people closest, but also the one that can reveal the most personal information. Always check the background before posting.

Formats: what the platform offers

  • Feed posts: photos, videos and text that all your subscribers can see. They're the base of your page and the first thing newcomers look at.
  • Pay-per-view (PPV): content with its own price that isn't included in the subscription. It can be a locked post or a file inside a message. OnlyFans' terms list it as one of the ways to access a creator's content.
  • Messages: you can reply, send paid content or send the same message to several subscribers. According to La Voz, paid messages can cost up to $100.
  • Live streams: broadcasts where subscribers can leave tips, according to Bloomberg Línea. They work for classes, Q&As, cooking sessions or gaming.
  • Tips: voluntary payments, with or without a message. Bustle says the minimum tip is $5.

If you mix formats, don't put everything behind PPV: the subscription should be worth it on its own. See how your income changes with price and extras using the OnlyFans earnings calculator, and review how payments work in how página azul works.

A realistic content schedule

There's no official number of posts per week. What matters is that your subscribers know what to expect and that you can deliver it. Here's an example for a fitness creator who posts four days a week:

DayFormatExample
MondayFeed postThe week's full routine on video
WednesdayMessage to subscribersTechnique correction and an open question
FridayLive streamA 30-minute live class
SundayBehind the scenesHow you plan the week and a preview of what's coming
  • Film in batches: spend one or two days producing and schedule the rest.
  • Keep a backlog: 10 to 20 posts ready for hard weeks or for your launch.
  • Repeat what works: see which posts get the most replies, tips or renewals and do more of that.
  • Announce breaks: an announced vacation causes fewer cancellations than unexplained silence.

What the platform bans

The official list of what isn't allowed is in OnlyFans' Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. Read them in full before posting, because they change over time. According to the terms, these are the key points:

  • Your content must comply with the law where you live and where you produce it. The terms say you're legally responsible for everything you upload.
  • The platform can review content before it's published, remove it if it breaks the rules and suspend the account.
  • AI-generated content must be labeled as such, and OnlyFans uses automated tools to review what's posted.
  • Only your own content: don't upload material from other creators, or films, songs or images you don't have rights to.
  • Advertising has limits: the terms ban promoting tobacco, illegal drugs, illegal gambling or anything illegal or harmful.
  • No deceptive links and no payments outside the platform.

If you're unsure about a piece of content, don't post it until you've checked the help section. Losing your account costs far more than one fewer post.

If another person appears in your content, the terms require verifying their age and identity and having their consent. Usually it's another verified creator you tag, or someone who signed a release. That consent can be withdrawn at any time, and then you must stop using that material.

  • Don't film people who don't know they're being filmed, at home or in the street.
  • Ask permission even if it's a friend who appears for a few seconds in a cooking or gaming video.
  • Keep the releases somewhere safe.

Never, under any circumstances, minors

On OnlyFans, only people 18 and older can post and appear. Producing or sharing adult content involving minors is a serious crime in every country in the region and is banned on every platform. Be careful with everyday content too: make sure children from your family or neighborhood never appear in the background of any photo or video. If you see anything like that anywhere, report it to the platform and to the authorities in your country.

Before posting anything, also review our safety and privacy guide for creators: metadata, backgrounds that give you away and what to do if someone copies your content.

This article is for information only and is not legal advice. OnlyFans' rules can change; always check the current ones on the platform.

Frequently asked questions

Can you have an OnlyFans without posting adult content?

Yes. There are fitness, cooking, music, makeup, fashion, cosplay and gaming creators. What you post is up to you, as long as it follows the platform's rules and the law.

How many times a week should you post on OnlyFans?

There's no official number. Many creators choose three to five posts a week, but consistency is what matters: post what you can keep up for months and tell your subscribers your schedule.

Which is better: feed posts or paid messages?

They complement each other. The feed justifies the subscription and paid messages are an extra for people who want more. If everything valuable is behind an extra payment, people are likely to cancel.

Can you post AI-generated content on OnlyFans?

According to the platform's terms, AI-generated content must be labeled as such. And never use another person's likeness without their permission.

Can you make content with another person?

Yes, if they're an adult, have verified their identity and have given consent, which they can withdraw whenever they want. Most often it's another verified creator you tag in the post.
